Interesting sketch
Battle of Plattsburgh, and victory on Lake Champlain (first line: Sir George Prevost with all his host)
Commodore Macdonough's victory (first line: O freemen, raise a joyous strain)
Battle of Niagara! or America again victorious over her white and red savage enemies (first line: O'er Huron's wave the son [sic] was low).
Notes:
Prose account of the battle of New Orleans, followed by a song and two poems about the War of 1812.
Title within cartouche: Grand battle of N. Orleans, under the veteran General Andrew Jackson the second Washington of America, on the memorable 8th of January 1815.
Ascribed to the press of Jesse Cochran by McCorison.
In another edition (not in Shaw & Shoemaker or McCorison) the imprint date is incorrectly printed as Jan. 1, 1815, the cartouche title continues with the phrase "in which Yankee skill & bravery will forever stand on record unparalelled in history," the first line of the Battle of Niagara reads correctly "O'er Huron's wave the sun was low," and the placement of texts and cuts varies.
Text and illustrations in seven columns; printed area measures 55.4 x 44.2 cm.
