John Howe, whose name appears as author on the title pages of the almanac through 1811, was also the only printer in Greenwich.
The present issue is the second in the series to appear under a pseudonym. The author's preface, dated May 12, 1812, states: "I have reason to be satisfied with my first number, as more than 5000 copies were sold ..."
