Notes:
All of the calculations, astronomical notes, weather predictions, etc. on the calendar pages, and the text of the eclipse predictions, are identical with those in Bailey's Rittenhouse almanac for 1819 (Philadelphia), calculated by Joshua Sharp. Sharp's characteristic preliminary "Notes to the reader" also appear. The attribution to Andrew Beers, whose name had not appeared on a Pennsylvania almanac in many years, is a circumstantial error.
Until 1818, the year this almanac was printed, Sheldon Potter, the publisher, was associated with his brother the printer Paraclete Potter in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The title page of the present almanac is identical with that of the almanac for 1819 published by Paraclete at Poughkeepsie, except that the imprint and the statement of meridian have been changed. Presumably through inadvertence, the name of the author has not been changed. Beers was the calculator of the Poughkeepsie almanac.
Pages [2] and [4] (including the ephemeris) and signatures E-F are also offprints from the Poughkeepsie almanac. Paraclete has, in short, printed at least part of this almanac for his brother to help him start his publishing business in Philadelphia.
The Anatomy is the only illustration.
Last page contains a publisher's advertisement.
