- Metal-engraved text and illustrations; illustrations are presumably by William Charles. Cf. Weiss, Harry B. William Charles, early caricaturist, engraver and publisher of children's books, New York, 1932, p. 7.
- Leaves [1] and [14] comprise what appear to be printed wrappers for "Country scenes illustrated with emblematical prints[.] Philadelphia published and sold by Wm. Charles no. 32 South Third St. Price 6 1/2 cents." Perhaps present here as waste sheets, or as an advertisement for that work. No copy of that title is known; recorded by Welch (entry 242) on the evidence of the leaves found here.
- "Of Wm. Charles, may be also had, recently published ..."--advertisement, back cover.
