- Calculated by Stoddard Capen, as is evident in comparison with his New-England almanack, for the year of our Lord 1818 (Boston: Printed for C. Ewer, by Parmenter & Norton) (Shaw & Shoemaker 41569). The calculations in the eclipse notes, although fewer that those given in Capen's own almanac, are otherwise identical. The calculations on the calendar pages are identical with Capen's throughout, and are in fact printed from the same type. The calendar page notes, although a different version of those in Capen's almanac, are clearly by the same author. Capen is plainly not the "editor" whose preface appears on p. [3-4].
