A reissue of the sheets of the 1814 edition (Shaw & Shoemaker 30809). "Certain preliminary matter, the 'Conclusion' and the appendix of the earlier edition are omitted. The dedication is changed and a new preface added. Part of the material on the Pennsylvania Hospital is replaced by the new section (p. 130-133) on 'military and flying hospitals.' The introduction (p. [135]-144) to the 2d part ... is reprinted with alterations. Slip cancels and an excision take care of the changes in the table of contents. ..."--Austin.
