Responding to an address To the people of the state of New-York, signed by Edward Savage and six other N.Y. senators, and A. M'Cord and nineteen other members of the N.Y. Assembly. "The direct tendency of their address is to sow the seeds of discord among us. To hold up the majority in both branches of your Legislature as influenced by impure motives, and unworthy your confidence. ... We are charged with having formed a union with the Burrites for selfish and dishonorable purposes."
