Printed in late 1805 or 1806. The ode and sermon concern the case of Rev. Joseph Dana and his wife Elizabeth, of Ipswich, Mass., brought before an ecclesiastical council in Nov. 1805 (cf. A Vindication of the result of the late council at Ipswich, Newburyport, 1805, Shaw & Shoemaker 8232). Timothy Dexter died on October 23, 1806.
