- "Mr. James Pike, aged 28, Mr. David Williams, Jun. aged 20, and Mr. Moses Whitney, aged 17; returning from Boston on the eve of December 24th, 1803, to Dorchester-Point, were drowned by the oversetting of the boat. Their bodies were afterwards found, and brought to the Meeting House, where a large concourse of people assembled to attend their funeral obsequies. The following address was delivered on the occasion, and, after prayer an appropriate dirge was chanted by the choir of singers."--Information, p. 2.
