Two states of gathering [A] noted. One (the first?) is without the words "author of 'A summary history ..." on the title page. The dedication (p. [iii]-iv) begins "Dedication. Medfield, August 3, 1801" and is signed "Hannah Adams. [To] John Adams, late president of the United States." The second state has "author of 'A summary history ..." on the title page. The dedication begins "Dedication. To John Adams, late president of the United States. Medfield, August 3, 1801" and is signed "Hannah Adams."
