Summary:
Miller (history, Central European U. and Russian Academy of Sciences) thought he was through with the nationalism question after his 2000 book on the Ukraine. Well, an article here and there could mop remaining questions, or new issues that popped up, or the odd not correction, exactly, but clarification perhaps. Then one day a colleague asked the title of the new book that all these chapters were for. He surrendered, revised the articles into chapters, and added new ones to smooth over the coverage. Still, he warns, the book is less solidly united than if the whole had preceded its parts. Annotation ©2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
