Abridged Latin translation of his: Oorsprong en voortgang der Neder-landtscher beroerten ende ellendicheden, with same engravings as the original. Ernesto Eremundus is a pseudonym of Johannes Gysius. Original Dutch version was published in 1616. Cf. STCN.
On p. 278 starts: "Jmmanis crudelitas quam in VVestphalia Clivensique patria moderante hispanias Philippo Tertio Arragoniae admirantius regij exercitus imperator exercuit," a section not included in the Dutch original. Cf. Bib. Belgica. This section includes 2 new engraved portraits.
The second part has special title page: Appendix, sive, Historia tragica de furoribus Gallicis & caede admirallij narratio. This appeared originally in 1573 under title: De furoribus Gallicus, with pseudonym Ernestus Varamundus (i.e. Franciscus Hotomanus). Cf. BLC.
