Biography/History:
Disfarmer was the local photographer in Heber Springs, Arkansas (pop. 3,800) from 1915 until he died in 1959. Using commercially available glass plates, Disfarmer photographed his subjects in direct north light.
Summary:
Original black-and-white prints of people, including portraits of children, adults, and, whole families. All are approximately 3 1/2 X 5" and are mounted on 8 1/2 X 11" paper.
