Vidua and Vaughan likely met while Vidua was staying in Philadelphia in 1825.
Summary:
The letter, written from Mexican city of Tepic, outlines some matters of business with Vaughan and a Mr. Gandolfi. It also describes Vidua's intended journey to Peru (which he aborted when his father fell ill) and solicits help in finding contacts in Calcutta for another proposed trip, which he later carried out in 1827.
