- Summary:
- Two notebooks containing lecture and clinical notes taken during Woodhouse's residency as a student in the medical department of Pennsylvania College in Philadelphia. Notes are primarily taken from lectures on the principals and practice of medicine by professor William Darrach and materia medica by professor Henry S. Patterson. His clinical notes were taken during his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital. Volume 1 encompasses the years 1848-1849 while volume 2 includes lecture and clinical notes during 1847 but also includes Woodhouse's expenses from 1847-1852. Volume 2 also includes a price list of medicines sold by George W. Carpenter (pp. 74-75).
