- Epistolary novel, apparently unpublished, consisting of unsigned letters between two lovers, an unnamed man and a woman named Fanni. The 173 letters are dated from 6 October 1764 to 1 May 1765.

- Collation: Paper, ii + 174 + ii; 1-29⁶; [1-3], 4-347, [i]; contemporary pagination in ink, upper outer corners. Signed A-Z (no J, U, or W), Aa-Ff on first page of each gathering, lower right recto. Catchwords on the last page of each gathering, lower right verso.
- Layout: Written in 25 long lines; bounding lines ruled in red ink.
- Script: Written in a cursive script.
- Binding: Contemporary mottled calf; spine gilt in compartments with floral tooling; black morocco label lettered in gilt Lett de deux amant; three corners and head of spine repaired (Hall Rare Books).
