Zigeuner-epos was based on the Magyar dalok and Magyar rapszódiák. The ms. of this unfinished work is part of sketchbook N7 in the Goethe/Schiller Archive, Weimar.
Célèbre mélodie hongroise (originally published: Paris : Leduc, 1886) is also based on a theme from the Magyar dalok, no. 11 and Rapsodie hongroise, no. 6.
