- Biography/History:
- The creator of this scrapbook may have been involved with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, but it is impossible to be certain. It is unclear if the creator was a man or a woman; but there is one photograph of the Second Building Royal Canadian Air Force Headquarters as well as a photograph of "Dad and Mum, Gatineau Ski House here they wax their skis."
- Summary:
- This scrapbook consists of photographs taken in Karachi, Bombay, and Lahore. The photos in the volume which were taken in India (and present day Pakistan) are of the main sights and buildings. There are a few photographs of locals (a traffic policeman, a carriage driver, a clothes washer) and various animal drawn carts. Only eight pages of the scrapbook contain photographs and only some of the pages are broadly captioned. A few of the photographs are also captioned. In addition, there are about 18 loose photographs of unidentified people and areas. Approximately half of these photographs were probably taken in India and appear to be a resort town with sailboats on a lake and people on a beach. The other photographs appear to be more family-focused and include two young women on a boat, a group of young women playing basketball (containing "That's me!" on the back of the photograph), "Dad and Mum at a ski chalet in Gatineau, a dog sitting on a chair, a soccer team (on the back: LAC J.M. Scollard), a family photograph captioned "Christmas 1950," and a "Season's Greetings" photo of a young boy on a tricycle.
