Summary:

An online index of articles from the Shanghai daily Shenbao newspaper. Covers the years from the paper's foundation in April 1872 to the end of 1898. Provides keyword access to more than 11,000 entries, including a selection of news reports, official documents, letters to the editor, and selected popular poetry describing local customs. Also includes some articles reprinted from other Hong Kong papers, such as the early Xunhuan Ribao (1874-1879).
