Summary:
Overcome with jealousy, a barber's assistant cuts the throat of a rival for the affections of the barbershop's manicurist. The story is told in flashback beginning at the assailant's escape from Dartmoor Prison. "A tense, shocking thriller that stylistically evokes the early films of Alfred Hitchcock and the masterworks of Russian and German silent cinema." A perfect companion, Silent Britain (2006) is a feature-length documentary of the early days of British cinema, from the earliest attempts at filmmaking to the introduction of sound.
