The book is given additional melancholy interest from the fact that Byron presented it, ten days before his death, to his dear friend and companion, Mr. Fyler, whose book-stamp and initials appear on the flyleaf facing title page, at the top of which is written in the poet-chieftain's hand: 'This book belonged to Lord Byron and was given by him to Mr. Fyler when he parted from him at Athens. -- Byron'"--Bookseller's typed description.
