Summary:
This book is a magical passport transporting readers into the extraordinary, visionary world of Jules Verne. Not strictly a biography, it is a fascinating mix of picturesque anecdotes and extracts from his novels. Phileas Fogg and Captain Nemo spring to life again. The book is beautifully and evocatively illustrated by Stephane Heuet and translated by Helen Marx. Gonzague Saint-Bris is the author of several well-known biographies. His novel "The Old Men of Brighton" won the Prix Interallie in 2002. Born in the Loire Valley, his family owns the Chateau le Clos Luce in Amboise, where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last few years.
