- The quality and breadth of contemporary architecture in Vorarlberg also sets the standard for other provinces, although their are still great differences in terms of general acceptance. Dedicated architects in Salzburg's rural areas are also committed to building contemporary architecture, parallel to the vibrant and diverse scene in the city of Salzburg. Tom Lechner, a young architect from the region, opened his office in Pongau in 2000, initially in partnership with Alexander Pedevilla. The careful, responsible planning process he follows with his clients is often followed by open, tough debates with municipalities and councils. The continuously increasing success of LP architektur proves that the added value of good architecture and well-crafted solutions is gaining recognition.
