Summary:
History has it that reformed villain, Sheriff Pat Garrett, gunned down William Bonney, a.k.a. Billy the Kid, on July 14, 1881 at Fort Sumner, where Billy's grave is a much-visited tourist attraction. Some say that the friendship between Garrett and the Kid led the lawman to let the outlaw go and another man's body lies beneath the famous headstone.
