Summary:
In this fascinating collection, the study of globalization is analysed from a truly global perspective. Bringing together twelve authors from around the world to analyse and reflect on what globalization means to them, the book examines whether it has the same meanings in Russia as in the US, or the same in China as in South Africa. Including chapters on countries of the North and the South, plus one on indigenous peoples, this collection provides a global dialogue on the key issue of the twenty-first century. The contributors provide much-needed new perspectives for thinking about globalization, its impacts and forms of resistance and response. By grounding their analyses in the experience of particular countries, the contributors reveal the varied meanings and effects of globalization.
