Fourteen of the plates have foldout or inserted parts designed to give a view of the landscape before and after "improvements"; four of the plates are double.
The work concludes with an appendix containing commentary on Uvedale Price's thesis in his Essay on the Picturesque : with the sublime and the beautiful, and, on the use of studying pictures for the purpose of improving real landscapes (London, 1794). Included is a copy of a detailed letter sent to Price on receipt of a copy of the publication. In the commentary are 16 "Sources of pleasure in landscape gardening" to support his own theories.
