- Summary:
- The German play is an adaptation of an unidentified French source. The file contains materials presumably related to rehearsal and performance, including a published copy (Berlin: Eduard Bloch /L. Lassar's Buchhandlung, 1859), with annotations only on the page with the character list; and 3 role books, for the parts of der Baron; Alfred; and Mathilde. (The play has two additional roles: Bastian and Babette.) It cannot be said with any certainty whether the materials were actually used in the preparation of a performance. The provenance is unknown. (The collection's holdings of theater newspapers and playbills contain no reference to this play.)
