Materials related to rehearsal and performance, including a published copy (Wien: J. B. Wallishausser, 1854) and 8 handwritten role books, for the following parts: Herr von Goldsmith; Jak, Goldsmiths diener; Anna, Hollaus Tochter; Liebstein; Frau Margarethe; Suschen; Michel; and ein Unbekannter. The published copy, which is missing the front cover, is bare of annotations except for marks in the character list indicating precisely the extant role books, which account for only a minority of the total 22 roles listed. Only one role book, ein Unbekannter, bears a name on the front cover, (Herr) Schmitz, presumably of an actor assigned the role; that item varies somewhat in appearance and style from the others, which all appear to belong together, as part of a set. (The collection's holdings of theater newspapers and playbills contain no reference to this play.)
