Biography/History:
At this time, Samuel Huntington was the governor of Connecticut. George Clinton was the governor of New York.
Summary:
In this letter to George Clinton, Samuel Huntington informs Clinton that the persons responsible for the recent murder of the sheriff of Columbia County, New York, were apprehended in the eastern part of Connecticut and have been escorted back to New York to be tried. Included is one engraving of Huntington by J. C. Buttre, and one of Huntington's residence in Norwich, Connecticut.
