Summary:
Ten sermons on the ten commandments by the parish priest of Cobán, translated by a Kekchi Indian of Cobán, with Spanish and Kekchi on facing pages, dated 1855-1856, followed by one sermon on marriage in Kekchi, dated 1853. The sermons were written on different types and sizes of paper and were bound together later.

Foliation: Paper, [iii, 96]; modern pencil foliation, lower right recto, not including blank interleaving added between sermons at the time of binding.
Watermarks: Letters C, I, V, and Y on the paper used for the third through tenth sermons (ff. 21-84).
Binding: Late 19th-century half leather.
Origin: Translations were made by the order of the parish priest (title page note); Berendt received the documents from the parish archives of Cahabón, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala.
