Summary:
Poetry and prose excerpts from authors including William Shakespeare, Laurence Sterne, Samuel Johnson, Oliver Goldsmith, Thomas Gray, James Edmeston, Walter Savage Landor, Edward Young, and Henry Fielding. Ornamented name inside front cover in Gothic letters, Benjamin Kirkham, Liverpool. Approximately the first half of the book is written in one hand, with titles in Gothic letters, with the remainder and later additions in several other hands. Includes a few sketches in pencil and pen of animals, mostly birds. Several entries at the end dated 1850.
