Summary:
Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, was known for his profound spirituality as well as his extraordinary goodness all of his life. After studing theology in Bergamo and in Apollinare School (Rome), he became a priest and eventually a bishop and cardinal. When Pius XII died on October 9th, 1958, the 77 year-old Angelo went to Rome to choose a new pope. This time, however, it is he who hears gentle words of Jesus "Tu es Petrus!" ("You are Peter!") and from October 28th, 1958 until his death in 1966, led the church as Pope John XXIII.
