1 letter from Strauss to Gustav Mahler shortly before Mahler's death, in 1911, includes mention of Strauss's preparing to perform Mahler's third symphony that year in Berlin. 1 item is a photographic copy of a condolence telegram, upon Mahler's death. 1 item is a letter dated 1939, in which Strauss explains why he cannot grant Alma permission to publish his letters to Mahler. Also included is a montage of various condolence telegrams upon Mahler's death (photocopies), with Strauss's forming the principal part.
