Summary:
This is the only book available that offers current data-based analyses from leaders in violence prevention with a strong scientific perspective. Contributors examine a range of violence that occurs in our culture, including child maltreatment, youth violence, intimate partner violence, and suicide. They often draw on large-scale studies conducted by the government in their discussions of approaches to violence prevention. Violence is a serious public health problem that can be prevented, and this book offers methods to accomplish that goal through programs at all levels of society, from school-based interventions to changes in government policy.
