On Bruno Walter's recommendation, Kaminski sent Alma Mahler two of his scores, a string quartet and a choral work, in hopes of receiving a stipendium from the Gustav Mahler fund that Alma had established after her husband's death. Kaminski reports that Arnold Rosé had accepted the string quartet to be played that season.
