Physical Description:
1 item (3 leaves)
Contained In:
Mahler-Werfel Papers. Folder 465.
Place of Publication:
1945.
Summary:
Accompanying the letter is a 2-page typed manuscript of an article (by Hendricks for the International News Service), in which Hendricks reports on Werfel's opinions about the best postwar approach to opposing the effects of Nazi ideology and rehabilitating the German people. It appears that Hendricks had interviewed Werfel and had sent him the manuscript for his comments. In the letter Werfel was apparently suggesting certain revisions (only the concluding page is extant); it is not clear whether the manuscript is Hendricks's original version or whether it is a revised version which Werfel was sending to Hendricks.
Notes:
Includes a carbon copy of the last page of 1 letter, presumably from Werfel.
Only a carbon copy of the last page of the letter is extant; the beginning of the letter is missing.
