- Summary:
- A collection of drafts of notes on Chiapanec grammar, idioms, phrases, history, geography, family names, alphabet, numerals, and calendar. Also includes notes from cofradía ordenanzas, a copy by Berendt of a map of Chiapa prepared by D. Julian Grajales in 1868, and the text of the Lord's prayer in Chiapanec.

- Foliation: Paper, 33; modern pencil foliation, upper right recto, 1-32, skipping a leaf glued in between leaves 3 and 4.
- Binding: Late 19th-century boards with cloth spine.
