- Universal Edition was responding to inquiries from Fähnrich about contributions from Werfel published in journals; Schuh was responding to an inquiry from Fähnrich about publication possibilities for a posthumous volume of prose by Werfel; Hyršlová was the author of an essay forwarded by Fähnrich; and Isolde Klarmann was Adolf Klarmann's widow.

- Includes 3 items from Universal Edition (Vienna, Austria) addressed to Fähnrich, a photocopy of 1 item from Willi Schuh addressed to Fähnrich, and 2 items from Fähnrich addressed to Isolde Klarmann.
- Enclosures in letters from Fähnrich include 1 photographic negative of a review from the New York Times, January 1930, of a production of Verdi's opera Simone Boccanegra, in Werfel's version; 1 program (in Czech) for a 1967 Prague production of the opera Jacobowsky a plukovník, an adaptation by Giselher Klebe of Werfel's play Jacobowsky und der Oberst (contains an essay by Fähnrich); and an essay by Květa Hyršlová, "Zur Frage der Heimat im Werke Franz Werfels," published in Zeitschrift für Slawistik.
