Summary:
Customary law of Antwerp, including family and property law, divided into seven "volumes," each of which is subdivided into titles and articles. The 17th-century text is preceded by 19th-century notes on "Manuscrits sur la coutume d'Anvers déposés à la Bibliothèque de Bourgogne à Bruxelles" and followed by a 19th-century table of contents.

A notarial document in Dutch titled "London Certificatie" and dated 1796 which was laid into this volume has been cataloged separately in Miscellaneous Manuscripts under the name of the notary, Pieter Hendrik Hoogenbergh.
Pagination: Paper, 307 leaves; [x], 1-598, [viii]; contemporary pagination in ink, upper outer corners.
Script: Written in a cursive script by what appears to be a single hand, with French text written in a 19th-century cursive hand.
Binding: Contemporary blind-stamped calf (Zacour-Hirsch).
Origin: Written in Antwerp after 1608.
