Summary:

Manuscript biography of the Turkish pasha Osman Paswan-Oglu (sometimes written Pasvantgolu) of Widdin, now Vidin, in Bulgaria. He led a group of rebels and mercenaries against the government of the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Sultan Selim III, looting villages in the Balkans and escaping or defeating large armies sent against him by the central government. Also notes on the route from St. Jean d'Acre (in modern Israel) to Constantinople (pp. 613-616) and notes added in 1812 about the nomadic Turkmen (pp. 619-629).

Notes:

A note on the title page in a hand different from that of the title states that the work was written in 1806 and 1807 and was reviewed in Constantinople in 1813 by Prince Alexandre Soutzo (spelled Sutzo in the text), hospodar of Wallachia. The text is written on the recto side of each leaf, with notes and corrections written in another hand on the facing verso.
