- Extracted from the chapter on Dooms-day in: Ambrose, Isaac. Prima, media, et ultima. Some editions name "Dr. Bates" (perhaps William Bates, 1625-1699) as author, and several editions are entered under the surname Bates in the National Union Catalog.
