Summary:
In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the State of Israel, James Michener discusses the founding and future of Israel, his hopes for Israeli-Arab peace, and describes his research in writing The Source, which traces the history of an archaeological site in modern Israel back to its settlement millennia ago and recounts the technological and spiritual development of the inhabitants over the centuries.
