- The Oxford edition of 1744 was edited by Sir Thomas Hanmer, who followed Pope's edition of 1723-25.
- The additional titlepage in vol. 1 and the titlepages of vols. 8-9 read: 'The works of Mr. William Shakespear'; the titlepages of vols. 2-7 read: 'The works of Mr William Shakespear'. The imprints of the additional titlepage in vol. 1 and of vols. 2-9 read: "printed in the year MDCCXLVII".
- Each play has a separate half-title and engraving.
