- "Abraham Hutchins" is a pseudonym intended to exploit the popular reputation of the New York state calculator John Nathan Hutchins.
- The actual calculator is Andrew Beers. The astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages, and the calculations in the ephemeris and eclipse predictions, are identical with those in his Beers's almanack and ephemeris for 1790, published at Hartford. The calendar page calculations are also identical, except for some slight variations in those for the sun, the phases of the moon, and the day's length, reflecting the difference in meridian between Hartford and New York.
