- A defense of Captain Andrew Bryson, who had sued the company of Yates and Petty to recover a debt. The court recognized Bryson's full claim, but Petty refused to pay, claiming that the suit was won by perjury. Petty tried to get an indictment against Bryson from the Grand Jury, but the case was rejected. Cf. Wheeler, J.T. Maryland.
