- Attributed to Benjamin West by Evans and in Bates, A.C. "Check list of Connecticut almanacs, 1709-1850." Proceedings of the American Antiquarian Society, n.s. volume 24 (1914): 102, 136. But the actual calculator is Nathan Daboll. The calculations for the rising and setting of the sun and moon, and most of the astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages, are identical with those in The New England almanack and gentlemen and ladies diary for 1785 (New London), calculated by Daboll under the pseudonym of Edmund Freebetter.
