Opposing the establishment of the office of book auctioneer for the city of Philadelphia, and requesting that Bell not be considered for the position, should the office be established. Cf. Bell's memorial of Dec. 6, 1783 (Evans 17836) in which he opposes establishment of the office but requests consideration for eventual appointment.
