Notes:

Most of the subscribers were Quakers who, opposing the Revolution on religious grounds, were subjected to searches and seizures for having "evidenced a disposition inimical to the cause of America." They were imprisoned first in Mason's Lodge, then later in Virginia, until April 1778.
