- Engraved throughout. Consists of musical instruction and hymn tunes, printed on alternate facing rectos and versos.
- Issued without title page. Title from first line of text.
- There exist at least two issues of this edition, and several reworked impressions. The issue at hand (the later?) has 22 leaves (the other has 16 leaves); here the tune "Southwell" begins leaf 2. An early state of this issue has leaf 15 numbered 11, apparently from the earlier version of the plate.
- Generally found bound with one of the several Boston editions of Brady and Tate or Watts' version of the Psalms.
