- Petition presented Dec. 2, 1781, by members of the Society of Free Quakers, who had been disowned by the Monthly Meeting of Friends of Philadelphia for affirming allegiance to Pennsylvania and the United States and for holding public office, paying taxes, and bearing arms. The petitioners request that their right "to hold in common with others of that society, the meeting houses, school houses, burying grounds, lots of land, and other the estates ..." be recognized by the commonwealth.
